The Isle of Man TT Races are one of the most exhilarating and prestigious motorcycle racing events in the world, attracting fans and riders alike with their thrilling mix of speed, skill, and breathtaking scenery.
Held on the island’s legendary 37.73-mile Mountain Course, the TT features a unique blend of public roads and challenging terrain that tests the limits of both machines and riders.
The Southern 100 is a unique event to the Isle of Man, Motorbikes and sidecars line up and start in their masses to race around the Billown Course which is located in the south of the Island in Castletown.
The event is held over four days in July and is known locally as ‘The Friendly Races’, in comparison to its counterparts, the TT and the Manx Grand Prix
For motorcycle enthusiasts and racing fans, few events offer as much as the Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT. The two weeks offer a unique blend of history, adrenaline, and tradition. Colby AFC is situated in the southern part of the Isle of Man, outside the TT course and only 3 miles from Castletown, the Airport, Port Erin, and Port St. Mary. It’s also a pleasant ride to Peel. The nearest access points to the TT course are Ballacraine (approximately 10 miles) and Union Mills and Quarterbridge (both around 11 miles).
The Billown Circuit (Southern 100 Road Races) is just over a mile from the campsite!
The club is conveniently located within Colby village, just a short walk away, where you’ll find the popular Colby Glen pub and a well-stocked Spar shop open from 7 AM to 10 PM. It’s the perfect base for exploring the island!
From Douglas follow Castletown signs, then at Ballasalla round about take 2nd exit to Silverdale/Port Erin/Colby – follow signs to Colby and just before you reach the Colby Glen Public house take turning on left sign posted for COLBY AFC – cross the railway line and follow road into the football club car park.
